Scene animation done in Adobe Flash CS4 for school. The assignment was to animate a looping scene with four characters (dwarf, lady elf, halfling, dragon) and three background elements (torches, shiny things!, rolling coin).

It'll loop forever, so you know...don't wait for something cool to happen. :D

there is nothing wrong with your dragon, it has a nice children book feel. Love al the moving parts and the drawing is clean.

I got the feeling i heard the music in the game shadows over riva before.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! :)

The music I actually got from Jamendo! Here's the specific album. It's a pretty neat site full of free music, and great for musicians to get themselves heard! The one I used was the very last track.:D

:lmao: Did they specifically ask for you to do something dungeon and dragony or was that all you? ;P Because I'm thinking some nerdity may have inspired this scene. :ninja:

I love the style. Even if it wasn't animated the pic would still be cool because of the style. But it IS animated so you get a pic with a cool style that moves! :faint: I remember when you animated that eye and I could tell from that you had a knack for animating and this just reinforces that. The rising stomach, the flames in the background, the smoke twirling out of the nostrils, the sparkling gems...love it. Love it all.

^^; Nope, we could do whatever scene we wanted. I totally geeked it up. :D

 My sister laughed at me because that's the way I've been drawing dragons (for the most part) since I went through my dragon phase in the fifth grade. I even sat down and went through a bunch of images of dragons trying to change it and ended up throwing in the towel because I decided that I liked the way I drew dragons when I was a kid, or at least I did for something simple and cartoony like this. :)

Animation is fun, especially the final results...but it's a pain in the ass! Takes absolutely forever. :giggle:

Well it's good to know you haven't degeekified since you've been gone. :phew: 'Cause I tell ya...if ya had...that'd would've just been horrible.

:lmao: I go through that too. I often think that maybe I should try and do something better or more like what other people do. But in the end it just feels like work. You suck all the fun out of drawing because you're going against your natural instincts. Better to go with what feels right rather than what you think is right. :D That's why kids can enjoy what they're doing so much. Because they're the least subjective artists in the world. :O

I know! :faint: Every time I do some I vow to never do it again. But I always do. When I've recovered.

Degeekify? :ohnoes: Never happen. In fact, I just ordered a bunch of the X-Men heroclix set. XD Which I really, really don't need!

I know what you mean. It just gets really tiring after a while when you're doing something that doesn't come as naturally to you. I miss the way I drew as a kid...not the style, but the act itself. Didn't really care if something looked stupid, just kept going. :D Now I redraw little details about twenty times. :faint:

:lmao: I bought some DC 75th Anniversary Heroclix a couple of weeks ago and I walked out of the store going "Why do I keep buying these things? I'll never use them all!" ;P

OH! Forgot to tell you on my last reply. There's going to be an Ultimate Spiderman cartoon.

I think that's why I get frustrated with trying to transfer sketchbook doodles to 'finished' pictures. It never works. I think because when you're doodling it's like when you're a kid. You just draw and if you make a mistake then who cares? Just keep going. When you switch to non-kid then you have to fuss over every line and redraw and redraw. :shakefist: Even if you're not going to show anyone.

WHAAAAAAAAT??????? How do I not know these freaking things?! :faint: Oh that has the potential for being a really really good cartoon! :excited: Or...a pretty mediocre one I guess. Depends on how much they figure they have to edit out to get their low rating.

I got a brick of the Web of Spider-Man for my birthday. :aww: And then for the DC 75th I just ordered (or I should say I paid a friend and got him to order for me...I'm not too 'hip' with the ebay scene:D ) the Teen Titans figures. :w00t: The Beast Boy figures are pretty neato. And another friend wanted to get rid of her Clix so I acquired a bunch that way. Which basically means that I have more than I'll ever, ever need. Must be more selective in the future. :plotting:

 I hear you on that one. For one of the panels in my comic I sketched out what I wanted to do in my sketchbook, then when I was trying to draw the same stupid thing on the page...well let's just say my eraser got a workout that day. :shakefist:

Not looking at the right sites I guess. ;P I guess with Disney's animation department behind it it has potential to be good. I haven't really liked the Avengers cartoon though. Not because of some anti-Marvel stance! :iconsnootygplz: I just couldn't get into it. I think the problem was I've been watching the Justice League series and it just couldn't compare. Quality wise! Not company wise! :iconsnootygplz:

:O A whole brick? That must mean you got the special brick-only clix! :la: I'd love to get a brick one of these days. :aww: When I bought the DC 75 booster packs I remember I got about 3 doubles. I hate it when that happens. :shakefist: I think I got a Beast Boy one. I think it was just a big green animal. :giggle: Or maybe I'm imagining that. :O I tell myself all the time I should be more selective with Heroclix but I always fail. When I was last in the store looking at them I saw they had all these Green Lantern packs and I'm trying so hard to not go back and get them. :lmao: I feel like I'm trying to go cold turkey off drugs or something. ;P

I wish I had a photocopier and a lighttable. Then I could just blow sketchbook stuff up and then trace it. :D Oh wait...I guess you could scan it and then use a tablet. :plotting: Why did I not think of that before!!! :X

Yeah, the Avengers cartoon isn't very good. I found the first couple of episodes to be really unfocused to the point of almost being confusing. In the end I just didn't care enough about the characters they were showing me to want to watch more. I really think that's one of the most important parts of story telling. If people can't relate to the characters, if they're not invested in them and rooting for them, why would they care about what happens to them? The Justice League cartoon presented characters that people could really care about. :w00t:

^^; I should have, but I kept forgetting to mail the form in. XD Ah well, maybe next time. The Beast Boy for DC 75 was sweet because there was one figure that was him in his human form, one green leopard, one green bear, and one green T FUCKING REX!! :w00t: And the really neat part is that you can switch them out while you're playing. :D

The Green Lantern ones are pretty cool. I don't have them, but I have a friend who does, and they're quite spiffy. :)
