Hobbit Space AU - Kili Design

So The-G gave me the best bus doodle prompt ever - to design one or more of the Dwarves from The Hobbit as sci-fi characters. Awesome! 

So of course I went with Kili to start with, and then the ol' imagination went into overdrive and I have this whole stupid Space AU in my head. So yeah, y'all will probably be seeing more of these (and less bus sketchy versions) in the nearish future. 

I wasn't sure what kind of sci-fi aesthetic to go for, and ended up deciding to go with something between really gritty (Firefly style) and really sharp (Star Trek style)...kind of a BSG or maybe Star Wars feel? I guess the general idea is that the company has repaired a quite old assault carrier into a (barely) working ship to go on their quest. More deets on that later, but for now all that needs to be known is that Kili is a pilot/gunner and flies one of the several small fighters that are on board when the need arises.
